We felt the pressure for the Beamer name to live on with a son. This is the only place my kids remember living. We are going on our fifth season at Virginia Tech.

Our other daughter, Olivia, was born in 2010, the day after our spring game.Â Our last year at South Carolina we played in the SEC Championship game. He was there for the actual birth, but then he had to head back to work that night for meetings. Shane was in the middle of two-a-days in August so it was not ideal either. We induced early because she was due the weekend of an away game. Sutton was born in 2008, one week before our first game. It was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up and it ended up being a wonderful move for us. I grew up in Starkville and leaving my family and moving 500 miles away was hard. That was exciting and sad all at the same time. We got married that June and we were in Starkville for one season before he got the job at South Carolina. We dated for a year and got engaged that Christmas at the Homestead in Virginia. Shane was in the press box the first game as well, and we noticed each other when he was coming off the elevator. In college, I worked in sports information, and was in the press box on game days. My dad was the State Trooper that traveled with the Mississippi State football team for 16 years. Growing up in a college town, I always loved college football. I majored in Sports Communications and was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority.
